Cub Scout Adult Leader Training Opportunities

A trained leader is a prepared leader.

Cub Scout Leader Training
All training is requesting pre registration at the Sherman Scout office for head counts to prepare food and training material, 5 days prior to training date.  Your Cub Scout Training Chairman is Markie Nathan at 903-893-6660.

" Our youth deserve the chance at Scouting with a fully trained leader to guide them along the way, come and begin a Scouting adventure as a trained leader."

 

FAST START TRAINING

  • Who: All leaders

  • What: Immediately orients leaders to their role in Scouting before their first meeting with youth.

  • Prerequisite: None

  • How: Offered via video from your unit, on-line or from your local libraries

NEW LEADER TRAINING

  • Who: All leaders

  • What: Provides the basics of the Scouting program, age-appropriateness of those programs, values and methods.

  • Prerequisite: Fast Start Training

  • When: At selected Roundtable Meetings throughout the year.

  • Where: Roundtable Meetings

  • Fee: None

POSITION SPECIFIC TRAINING 

  • Who: All leaders

  • What: Presents in-depth information for new leaders in a specific leadership position.
    (Cub Leader Position Specific Training is broken down into the following classes:   Pack Committee, Cubmaster, Webelos Den Leaders, Cub Scout Den Leaders and Tiger Cub Den Leaders.)

  • Prerequisites: New Leader Essentials

Woodbadge

  • Who: All leaders

  • What: The highest level of training you can receive. If you truly want to give a good progrom to your scouts then you need to attend Woodbadge.
